 Cappza’s Pizza in Waterville, Maine, offers a convenient dining experience with a dedicated parking lot and plenty of seating inside. While slices are available at the counter, they seemed a bit older during my visit, so I opted for a freshly made small cheese pizza.
The pizza featured a light, airy dough that gave it a nice texture, and the base had a pleasant browning on the bottom, adding a subtle crispness. The sauce was mild in flavor, keeping things simple, while the cheese, with its medium browning, was the highlight—pleasantly toasted and flavorful. Overall, Cappza’s has a bit of a chain-pizzeria feel, but it delivers a decent, no-frills slice that’s satisfying for a quick bite in town.

The pizza is loaded with a generous amount of cheese--decent in quality, gooey, and rich. The sauce has a slightly acidic tang that cuts through the cheese nicely, balancing out the flavors without overpowering the slice. It's not fancy, but if you're looking for a cozy, no-frills pizza experience, Winterport House of Pizza delivers a pretty good slice worth trying.
Monte's Fine Foods in Portland, ME, is a hidden gem for pizza lovers. Their plain pizza features a thin, crispy base with an airy crunch, excellent sauce, and a delicious combo of mozzarella and finely grated parmesan--simple and perfect.

Micucci is an authentic Italian grocery with a wide selection of wine, olive oil, and other Italian delicacies. They also happen to serve up some of the best Sicilian pizza by the slice I've ever experienced. The Sicilian pizza is incredibly fluffy with a light, airy dough. The sauce is delicious and sweet, plus it's applied at the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio. The oregano and spices sprinkled on top of the perfectly melted cheese complete the perfect Sicilian package. One thing is clear to me: Micucci doesn't cut any corners with their delicious squares.
 I stopped into Stanziato's on the way back to Jersey for a meet-up with friends. It was a long drive from Maine and I was famished. Thankfully, Stanziato's delivered. First, I should note that the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is great and I could see myself dining here with friends after the workday ends.
For food, I decided to stick with the classic: Margherita Pizza. The sauce was really rich and flavorful. The fresh basil paired brilliantly with the perfectly melted mozzarella. The crust was burnt to sh*t, but still managed a light, fluffy, airiness that was, overall, enjoyable. I would definitely return but would secretly hope the kitchen can temper the flames to achieve the right amount of char this time around. Dragonfire Pizza is a solid pizza joint located in a strip mall on the outskirts of downtown Ellsworth. Inside you'll see positively medieval wall decor and an expansive menu with many options. They just so happened to have fresh slices when I arrived, so I decided to try their classic cheese pizza and the "Emerald Dragon" pizza.
The classic cheese has an excellent, thin, crispy base with some sufficiently good sauce and cheese. One of the best parts is the woody, smoky crust and base resulting from the nice charring from the oven. The Emerald Dragon pizza was a nice experience! I don't usually like spinach on pizza, but Dragonfire hit it out of the park with this one. The creamy ricotta and fresh mozzarella pair beautifully and taste of garlicky goodness. The base is thin and crisp with the same great toasting on the plain slice, but the crust has a slight fluffiness that leads to a great pizza experience. I'm very happy with the pizza from Dragonfire and would definitely visit again! Date: 10/29/2021 Location: Somerset, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain & Brooklyn Slice Website: www.732kingspizza.com/  I stopped into King's Pizzeria for a quick bite and decided to go with the Brooklyn slice and a classic plain slice. The Brooklyn featured a thin, crisp base with good cheese and excellent sauce. I would have loved it if they were a little more heavy-handed when it came to the sauce for this slice. The plain slice had a fluffy, delicious crust with a thin crispy base. The toasted bottom added a subtle smoky flavor that I enjoyed. The cheese and sauce were pretty standard, but overall I enjoyed both slices.
