Date: 06/18/2019 Location: Hillsborough, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain and Brooklyn Website: www.davincisgarden.com/ DaVinci's Garden is the newest pizzeria to Hillsborough. It inhabits the location that belonged to Sal's originally and then later Damiani's in the CVS stripmall along Triangle Road. Will DaVinci's be here to stay? Let's find out together.
The setup is very much the same as it has been over the years. There is a pleasant, open dining area to the side of the main counter. There are a variety of paintings and plants that furnish this cute dining area and the music adds a classic, romantic dinner ambience. As for the pizza, I decided to go with my usual plain plus a Brooklyn slice. The plain slice was pleasantly crispy and had a salty, garlicy taste to it. The sauce tasted good and the cheese was cooked perfectly to the point where it slightly browns, but not too much so. The Brooklyn had sweet, tasty sauce. There was a little bit of cheese slide, but the crust was perfectly crispy and the slice tasted good overall. If the success of DaVinci's Garden relied on their pizza alone, I would say with fair certainty that they will outlast the previous residents of their location. If you haven't been, I recommend giving them a chance.
