There is a combination of outdoor and indoor seating. The paintings that adorn the wall depict a pleasant countryside and add a nice atmosphere to the restaurant.
The pizza is pleasantly thin with a crispy crust and base. The sauce tastes great and the cheese is greasy with a smidgin of salt. Overall the pizza is quite good and the staff was very polite and attentive.

Date: 10/23/2019 Location: Hightstown, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain, Margherita, and Pasta Website: http://www.manninos4.com/ Mannino's 4 is located in the lovely town of Hightstown along a busy main street. There is plenty of seating and lovely photographs and wall furnishings that create a warm and inviting environment. There are plenty of options at the front counter and I decided to get a plain slice, Margherita slice, and a pasta slice.
The slices at Mannino's 4 have a perfectly thin and crispy base that is a medium-brown color and has a good structure to hold up the toppings. The outer crust is crispy, with a fluffy, bready interior. The plain slice had a good cheese to sauce ratio with a pleasant, sweet-tasting sauce. The penne-vodka slice was decent and featured a good, creamy vodka sauce. The aesthetic was enhanced by some fresh herbs placed on top of the slice, though they didn't add much noticeable flavor. The big winner at Mannino's 4 is the Margherita slice. The base is perfectly crispy and thin. The sauce is rich and chunky with great flavor. The cheese is fresh, milky mozzarella that melts in your mouth. This is the slice I highly recommend if you are stopping in for a bite to eat. Date: 10/22/2019 Location: East Windsor, NJ Pizza ordered: plain, pasta, & grandma Website: www.sabrinaspizzeria.com/ Sabrina's is located in a strip mall along the busy Route 130. Upon entering, you see several eye-catching wall decorations that bring about feelings of being in a pizzeria in Italy. There are beautiful tile paintings and photographs. The seating area is puny, with a bar-style table along the window and along the wall with around 8-10 seats total. There was plenty of variety available at the countertop and I decided to order the plain, pasta, and grandma slices.
The pizza was decent. The grandma had excellent sauce and a layer of crisp along the base. It was slightly gummy between the base and the sauce but tasted good overall. The plain is greasy and cheesy. There's lots of cheese stretch and the crust has a good toasty taste to it with a bit of fluff. The vodka sauce on the penne vodka slice was very cheesy and didn't really have any other flavors. The slice was greasy and filling. Overall, the pizza was average, but the real flaw of this pizzeria is the lack of available seating. I witnessed a large group of teenagers come in and half of them ended up leaving simply because they couldn't sit and eat their meal anywhere. The kitchen takes up 75% of the space and this isn't that small of a restaurant. With all those people it was crowded and hard to move around. If the restaurant were set up differently, this wouldn't have been a problem and I'm sure they could have served more customers. Date: 10/21/2019 Location: Jamesburg, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain and Vodka Sauce Website: http://romeosjamesburg.com/ Romeo's Restaurang & Pizza is located in the quaint town of Jamesburg. Parking is along the street next to the train tracks. There is ample seating with cleanly set tables and chairs. The pictures on the wall and mural are quite beautiful and create a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
There was plenty of pizza to choose from at the counter, I decided to go with a plain slice and vodka slice. The plain slice was tasty and had delicious tomato sauce. The base was mostly crispy and there was a nice, fluffy crust. The vodka slice featured tremendous vodka sauce, though I wish the cheese was shredded to promote better melt and distribution. The sliced cheese slid around when the slice was bitten into and didn't melt quite as well as I had hoped it would. Date: 10/15/2019 Location: Monroe, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain, Penne Vodka, Grandma Website: https://www.lacapanninamonroe.com/ La Capannina is located in a small strip mall along the busy Applegarth Road. There is a decent amount of parking and there is a very nicely decorated dining room with plenty of seating. There is a beautiful mosaic painting that adorns the wall and there is a separate seating area if you are in a rush and just want to grab some slices. They also have quite a variety of pizza/toppings to choose from at the counter (a definite plus). I ordered a slice of plain, a pasta slice, and a grandma slice. The plain wasn't anything mind-blowing. Just your average slice with a lot of cheese and a good, fluffy crust. The pasta slice was also average. The vodka sauce tasted decent and the slice was very filling. The grandma pizza is where this spot truly shines. The slice features a nice, crunchy base with flavorful, chunky tomato sauce. The mozzarella is fresh and accompanied by some sprinkled parmesan. Overall this isn't a bad spot and if you are a fan of grandma pizza... you won't be disappointed. |
