 LaScala's Pronto has a very modern design. The interior is clean and there is plenty of seating. The booths and tables are very nice and I like the setup. Unfortunately, the pizza is unremarkable. The plain slice was thin and crisp, but also very dry, with only your average cheese and sauce. The white was oily and cheesy with decent spices, but still just your average slice.

There is plenty of parking and the seating area inside is quite nice. You can definitely fit larger groups of people here and I imagine dining in would be quite nice based on the lovely seating area and decor.
I decided to go with a plain slice and a square slice. The square was the better of the two and featured a thin, crispy base with good cheese and an excellent, spicy, garlicky tomato sauce. I wish there were more on the slice! The plain slice is decent, but was a bit soft in some areas and didn't have as great a structure as the square slice. There was lots of extra flour on the bottom and it could have benefitted from more sauce. The fluffy, bready crust was good though! The inside is fully decked out with classic pizzeria décor - wooden tables and chairs, walls full of pictures, and the stable checkered floor. The staff is super welcoming and friendly. I decided to go with the Margherita slice and the calzone slice. Both were incredible. The Margherita had a thin crispy base with an amazing crunch. The sauce and fresh mozzarella were excellent. The calzone slice also had delicious, juicy sauce and perfectly fluffy ricotta cheese. If I'm ever in the area, this is the spot I will be returning to!  Date: 11/15/21 Location: Marlton, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain, grandma, and garlic bread. Website: www.montesinipizzas.com/  Montesini Pizza & Pasta is located in a strip mall along the busy East Greentree Road. There is ample parking and they have a lovely indoor seating area. The pizza is pretty good! The plain slice had a crispy, thin base with a light, fluffy crust. The cheese was decent and the sauce was good. Overall the slice was a little light on sauce and the crust was a bit dry but definitely not offensive. The grandma slice had fresh mozzarella and a crispy, crunchy base. The sauce was excellent - nice, juicy, and flavorful. I also picked up some garlic bread which was also delicious.
I'm a fan of Montesini and would happily return if I'm in the area.
La Bella Pizza is a small Italian restaurant on the corner of a strip mall in Medford, NJ. There is indoor seating and a cozy, outdoor patio area with very comfortable seating. The staff is high energy and very friendly. The slices are enormous and there are several options to choose from. I decided to go with the classic Margherita slice. Another interesting thing about this pizzeria is their unique bottled soda. They offer Grape, Birch Beer and Root Beer (and possibly more, but I have forgotten any others). I went with the Birch Beer which was very pleasant. The Birch Beer wasn't overly fizzy and not as spicy as I'm used to. It was a mild flavor but paired nicely with the pizza slice. The slice had a thin crust on the bottom and the sauce was layered on top of the cheese. The sauce was much spicier than other pizza's I've enjoyed, but this is likely, in part, due to the excessive sprinkling of oregano leaves. They got stuck in my teeth a little bit, but didn't take much away from the overall experience, as they added a nice spicy flavor profile to the pizza. The crust at the end was crispy on the outside but also fluffy on the inside. The owner surprised me by throwing in a few garlic knots which were also quite good. They weren't hot, but they did have a nice balance of garlic to butter. It was very kind of him to give me the hook-up and it made my experience much happier and made me feel special. Overall the pizza was pretty good and I would gladly stop by again if I were ever in the area.  |
