After years of serving up pies from their popular food truck, they've brought their craft to a permanent home - and it shows. Even as a carryout order, the quality and care behind these pizzas came through in every bite.
The Margherita showcased Za's commitment to perfect dough - a crisp, thin base with excellent structure and a bready, airy crust that revealed beautiful gluten networks. The sauce was outstanding: bright, balanced, and full of fresh tomato flavor. The Potato Pizza was pure comfort - salty, oily, and irresistibly rich. Thinly sliced potatoes paired beautifully with caramelized onions and gooey cheese, creating a perfect balance of texture and flavor. The Plain Cheese was another standout, with a perfectly foldable slice, pleasantly salty cheese, and a sweet, flavorful sauce that tied everything together. If this is what Za's pizzas taste like outside the oven, I can only imagine how good they are fresh from the hearth. A visit to the new brick-and-mortar location is already on my list - and it's clear this team's passion for their craft translates beautifully from truck to table.

Nestled beside the Front Street Shipyard, the restaurant blends rustic charm with a cozy, historic atmosphere that celebrates Maine’s working waterfront roots.
We’ve brought countless friends and family here, and it never disappoints. The drink menu is excellent, with a rotating selection of local Maine beers on tap and a solid cocktail list. The appetizers are always a hit - especially the Fried Fiddleheads, Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts, and Bavarian Pretzel. I personally love the black bean burger; it’s hearty, flavorful, and feels like a healthier choice (even if I usually get it with their perfectly crisp tater tots). When I’m extra hungry, the Fresh & Healthy pizza is a favorite. It's garlicky, slightly oily in all the right ways, and loaded with fresh vegetables that pack in a ton of flavor. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, and we’ve rarely had any trouble finding a seat. Harborwalk is the kind of spot that feels like home, and we’re lucky to have it nearby. I ordered the Italian Cheese pizza, and it did not disappoint. The trio cheese blend was cooked to perfection - slightly browned on top for that ideal toasty finish. The sauce was packed with rich, savory flavor. The fresh basil added a vibrant note, and the thin, crisp base was very satisfying. The crust had a beautiful light char and a deep, well-developed flavor. The scoop of creamy ricotta in the center was a highlight - perfect for smearing across the slices for a luxurious finishing touch. Authentic, thoughtful, and delicious.

Timber, located beneath the Residence Inn in Bangor, is a beautifully designed restaurant that blends modern comfort with a nod to the city's rich lumber history. The space is warm and inviting, with thoughtful wood integrations throughout - from the walls and furnishings to the plates themselves. Fireplaces scattered across the interior and outdoor patio add a cozy, New England charm that elevates the dining experience.
I have so far enjoyed both the Bianca and Smoky Tomato pizzas. The Bianca, topped with roasted garlic puree, olive oil, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, sweet ricotta, and basil, was a cheesy delight. The sweet ricotta melted in my mouth, and the medley of cheeses worked perfectly together to create a rich, balanced flavor. The Smoky Tomato pizza offered a deeper, more robust profile, with a subtle smokiness layered under the sweet and savory tomato sauce. The basil pesto drizzle brought everything together beautifully. Both pies featured a thin base and a slightly fluffy, bready crust - just the right amount of crispness and chew. The service was superb - our waitress was incredibly attentive, frequently checking in to ensure everything was to our liking and refilling drinks as needed. Timber is more than just a restaurant - it's a carefully curated dining experience that honors Bangor's past while delivering excellent food in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The separate seating area provides a cozy space to enjoy your meal, and parking is conveniently available along the street in standard spaces.
The pizza itself is satisfying, starting with a soft, bready base that feels hearty yet balanced by a slightly crispy crust. The sauce is flavorful and complements the nicely toasted cheese, which adds a rich, savory touch. Hot slices are available and fresh, making it a convenient option for a quick, quality bite. Overall, Sonny's Pizza is a great spot for a casual meal, offering good pizza and a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Fairfield.  Cappza’s Pizza in Waterville, Maine, offers a convenient dining experience with a dedicated parking lot and plenty of seating inside. While slices are available at the counter, they seemed a bit older during my visit, so I opted for a freshly made small cheese pizza.
The pizza featured a light, airy dough that gave it a nice texture, and the base had a pleasant browning on the bottom, adding a subtle crispness. The sauce was mild in flavor, keeping things simple, while the cheese, with its medium browning, was the highlight—pleasantly toasted and flavorful. Overall, Cappza’s has a bit of a chain-pizzeria feel, but it delivers a decent, no-frills slice that’s satisfying for a quick bite in town. Date: February 26, 2022 Location: Winterport, ME Pizza ordered: Plain Phone: (207) 223-4902  Winterport House of Pizza offers a classic, comforting slice with a soft, thick, and fluffy crust that makes each bite feel hearty and satisfying. The pizza is loaded with a generous amount of cheese--decent in quality, gooey, and rich. The sauce has a slightly acidic tang that cuts through the cheese nicely, balancing out the flavors without overpowering the slice. It's not fancy, but if you're looking for a cozy, no-frills pizza experience, Winterport House of Pizza delivers a pretty good slice worth trying.
Monte's Fine Foods in Portland, ME, is a hidden gem for pizza lovers. Their plain pizza features a thin, crispy base with an airy crunch, excellent sauce, and a delicious combo of mozzarella and finely grated parmesan--simple and perfect.

Micucci is an authentic Italian grocery with a wide selection of wine, olive oil, and other Italian delicacies. They also happen to serve up some of the best Sicilian pizza by the slice I've ever experienced. The Sicilian pizza is incredibly fluffy with a light, airy dough. The sauce is delicious and sweet, plus it's applied at the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio. The oregano and spices sprinkled on top of the perfectly melted cheese complete the perfect Sicilian package. One thing is clear to me: Micucci doesn't cut any corners with their delicious squares.
