Nick’s Lake House Restaurant Date: 6/17/21 Location: Lake Harmony, PA Website: https://nickslakehouse.com/ Nick’s is a lovely restaurant and bar that sit along the water’s edge. There’s limited parking at the restaurant but a larger lot right across the street that has ample space. They have an awesome outdoor seating area with a view of the lake and canvas coverings to help block some of the sun for when it’s very hot. There is a cool breeze that comes off the lake, so if you’re easily chilled, I recommend bringing a sweatshirt or jacket (depending on the time of year).
In addition to having excellent cocktails and a great sangria, they also have a decent pizza and an impressive Stromboli. If you have superhuman hunger or are sharing with friends, the large Stromboli is going to be a solid pick. Their standard plain pizza features a fluffy base, slightly thicker than a standard New York style slice and a fluffy, bready crust with a crisp exterior. Their sauce is tremendous and the cheese is perfectly melted. If you believe the stereotype that Pennsylvania pizza is terrible, then Nick’s should be a pleasant surprise to you.

Date: 6/19/2021 Location: Lake Harmony, PA at the Split Rock Resort Wine Festival Slices ordered: Plain slice & sweet sauce slice Website: eatatvesuvios.com/ I picked up two slices from the Vesuvio's pizza trailer at the Split Rock Resort wine festival in Lake Harmony, PA. The slices really hit the spot! Both the sweet sauce slice and the plain slice featured a crispy base with excellent cheese. The sauce on the plain slice was good and I also really enjoyed the sweet sauce. The crust was okay. It was a little plain and could have used a better toasting, but overall, the pizza was definitely good!
Date: 1/15/2018 Location: Easton, PA Pizza Ordered: Sweet and Spicy (Ham with honey drizzle) Website: https://www.stokecoalfirepizza.com/ Stoke Coal Fire Pizza & Bar is one of my greatest finds to-date. My girlfriend and I stopped in after doing some work in the area. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with friendly servers and warm vibes.
The pizza is tremendous and the options are some of the most unique I've seen. I tried an obscure pie that mixed spicy ham with a sweet and spicy honey. This is the most interesting combination I've tried so far and I have to say that I was pleasantly impressed. The sweetness and spiciness melded together nicely offering a full-tastebud experience that I won't soon forget. I also managed to convince my girlfriend to allow me to try a bit of her Margherita pie. It was beautifully made with delicious sauce, super-fresh cheese and the some of the best crust. Overall, if you are anywhere in the area, you must try this establishment! PS: the cocktails are elegant and worth the expense if you appreciate a well-crafted masterpiece. |
