I stopped in during peak COVID-19 season in April and I'm happy to report the staff was adhering to mask policies and social distancing requirements. I went with a slice of plain and a slice of the Margherita pizza. The plain had a crispy thin base. The sauce and cheese were both quite good. The crust was also nice and fluffy. The Margherita is decent. The cheese is alright and the sauce is nothing special. This slice would have benefitted from a more robust, rich sauce. Overall, the pizza is pretty good.

Date: 4/16/2020 Location: North Plainfield, NJ Pizza ordered: Person plain pie Website: www.22sanremo.com/  San Remo is located in a small stripmall along the bustling US 22. They've got a classic setup complete with wooden tables and chairs along the walls and a corner countertop that surrounds the oven. Because I visited during peak COVID-19 in April 2020, no slices were available. I instead opted for a person plain pie. The staff was wearing masks and social distancing was enforced during my visit.
The pizza had a great sauce and a crisp base with good structure. The salty, buttery cheese was quite good and the crust was pleasantly fluffy. Overall, the pie was on the greasier side and there was an excess of flour on the crust and base. But overall, the pizza was good. Date: 4/15/2020 Location: Bedminster, NJ Slices ordered: Plain, Brooklyn, Grandma Website: panatierispizza.com/bedminster/  Panatieri's is a small, New Jersey chain that consistently puts out good pizza. Other locations have not disappointed me and the Bedminster location is no different. The plain has a nice, thin, and crisp base. It also features a delicious, stretchy cheese. It's a great, foldable slice. The squares have a fluffier base with a crispier crust. The sauce is high-quality. Garlic and other spices add a ton of flavor. The Brooklyn pie has more sauce and a great flavor. Overall, you can't go wrong with this spot.
Date: 4/8/2020 Location: Bedminster, NJ Pizza ordered: Plain and Margherita Website: roccospizzanj.com/  I went with a slice of plain and Margherita. The plain was greasy and the sauce was thin and tasted cheap. The base wasn't very crispy which led to major flop. The Margherita was a bit better. It had a crispier base and the sauce was more full. They went a little heavy on seasoning/spices in my opinion. The pizza here is pretty average overall. The plain was mediocre, but the Margherita saved it a bit.
Date: 4/7/2020 Location: Martinsville, NJ Slices ordered: Plain Website: www.joespizzamartinsville.com/  Stopped in for a quick bite and I was not disappointed! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. The plain slice had a nice, crispy base, awesome sauce, and great, salty cheese. The slices are very foldable and have a good structure. Overall, Joe's puts out a really solid standard slice. Job well done!

Beniamino's is relatively new to the scene, taking over the location from the previous occupant Vera Pizza. I personally like the change. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the service is quick. The pizza is pretty good too! The Margherita has a decent sauce with great, fresh basil and gooey delicious mozzarella gobs. The plain is nice and saucy with a crispy base and salty cheese. The crust is fluffy, bready, and full of flavor. This is definitely a good spot.
Date: 7/31/2020 Location: Franklin Park, NJ Slices Ordered: Peppers & Onions + Grandma www.sansonebrotherspizza.com/  Don't sleep on hole-in-the-wall pizzerias. Sansone Brother's Pizza might just be a small spot in a strip mall, but their pizza is great. The grandma slice had an excellent, thick, chunky sauce. The base was well-crisped and the cheese rocked. The fresh basil tied all the flavors together to finish off a great slice. The peppers and onions slice featured excellent cheese and sauce. The ingredients were clearly fresh. The base and crust were both pleasantly crispy. I'm a fan of this spot.
 Nicola's is your typical neighborhood spot. The owner is a super nice guy and is very friendly. The pizza is very cheesy. The crust is pleasantly fluffy. The base is crispy and thin with fantastic structure. The sauce is excellent as well. Overall, Nicola's puts out a great standard slice that won't disappoint.
Date: 11/5/2020 Location: Somerset, NJ Pizza ordered: peppers & onions and plain Website: www.douglasspizzagrill.com/  Douglass Pizzeria & Grill sits along the busy Route 27. They offer tons of sandwiches, burgers, salads, gyros, fried foods, and pizza. The staff was very friendly during my visit. I tried the plain slice and a slice of peppers and onions. The slices were okay. Both had a tremendous crispy, crunchy base. The cheese is decent but the sauce is bland and so is the crust. The crust is nice and fluffy at least. The peppers and onions are good. During my visit, the temperature was uncomfortably warm inside. Not sure if it's usually like that, but it was very noticeable.

This photo is from the Dominick's Pizza Shoppe website. Dominick's Pizza is a small spot right off of the Somerville circle. They have a great counter selection and the staff is very welcoming. The plain slice is fairly generic. The cheese is subpar and the crust tastes like burnt sesame seeds. The baked ziti slice was good. The sauce is decent but was a tad cold. Overall, Dominick's was unimpressive. Perhaps it was an unlucky time to come by.
