I was in town for a conference and managed to find some seating at the bar on a busy Tuesday night. The restaurant was bustling with activity and conversation. The waiter got me set up with an apple old fashioned while I perused the menu. The cocktail was smooth and tasty with a balance of tartness and sweetness. The bitters added a nice spice.
After enjoying a bit of the drink, I decided to order the Arancini for a starter and the Geno Pizza as my main dish. The Arancini was incredible. Fried, cheesy, and delicious are all perfect descriptors. The sweet, rich tomato sauce paired nicely and the shaved parmesan added a great touch of flavor. The Geno Pizza featured a bready crust that reminded me of the quality dinner rolls. The cheese was creamy and buttery and the pizza overall was oily, garlicy, and had a slight spiciness. The fresh basil shreds complimented the dish perfectly. The bartenders and servers were all very attentive, polite, and professional. I have to give props to Nelson and Beth for taking good care of me. Forno Bistro was a great experience and I'll happily be dining there next time I'm in town.
