I was first introduced to Rustique Pizza after surveying in Jersey City for some green infrastructure practices. The restaurant is tucked into a cozy building in the middle of a small, quiet neighborhood in downtown Jersey City. The restaurant offers outdoor and indoor seating. The inside is small, but very comfortable. The dim lighting and intimate atmosphere makes it a great spot to take a date or go out with the family. Parking isn't too difficult to find and there are plenty of side streets that usually have room for parallel parking.
The slices were delicious. The sauce is fresh, as is the mozzarella cheese. Instead of the cheese covering a majority of the sauce like you might expect from your local, neighborhood pizzeria, the sauce and the cheese are perfectly intermingled. Neither the sauce nor the cheese slide off the slice, even when it's fresh out of the oven. The crust is fluffy and while the slices did seem to have a little excess cornmeal/flour on the bottom and crust, they still were delicious and very filling. Since first being introduced to this spot, I've been back a few times when I'm in the area. Rustique has become a dependable spot to get a solid slice in the Jersey city area.
